EXCELLENCE THROUGH MODULAR COMPONENT DESIGN

TECHNOMET-CONTROL looks expensive because its diecast front and rear bezels fit flush with the main case body for a smooth appearance; snap-on trims conceal all the assembly screws. But inside is a clever extrusion system that makes the enclosures cost-effective to manufacture in standard and bespoke sizes – and easy to customise to your exact requirements.

That’s just the start though: the assembly extrusions also feature M3 holes and guide rails for holding internal plates. And there are also M3 PCB pillars on the rear panel – so you can choose how best to install your electronics. The base panel on the underside is easily removable for cable entry. This panel – like all the others – is fitted with an M4 threaded pillar for earth connections.

This is the proven TECHNOMET system – based on a successful design ethos that has led to the swift expansion of the range. TECHNOMET-CONTROL follows the success of TECHNOMET and TECHNOMET SL (sloping-front) instrument enclosures, TECHNOMET 19" (84HP) desktop mini-racks and TECHNOMET 10.5" for half-width (42HP) electronics.

This is not without precedent here at METCASE. Making excellence more affordable has also been the hallmark of our COMBIMET 19" rack cases. Yes, they’re our most versatile, customisable rack cases…but their simple design also makes them the most cost-effective in our 19" range. So you get the best of both worlds. This is the thinking that led to the creation of first TECHNOMET and then the other models that share its name.

TECHNOMET-CONTROL IN YOUR WORLD

Industrial machine control, HMI, automation and factory processing are key applications for TECHNOMET-CONTROL. Especially with the rise of IIoT. But these enclosures can also be specified for security systems, test and measurement, point-of-sale and detection. The standard VESA MIS-D 100 mounting on the rear makes it quick and easy to fit them to suspension arms and brackets with 100 x 100 mm mounting hole positions.

TECHNOMET-CONTROL is equally at home on poles (⌀50 mm or larger) thanks to a mounting bracket (accessory) with a large central aperture for cables. The accessory range also includes wall mounting kits which – like the pole mounting bracket – are manufactured from mild steel (CR4) for added strength. Alternatively, we can modify the unit to accept a suspension arm via the base panel, rather than via the rear panel as standard.

The enclosures are offered in four standard plan sizes (230 x 180 mm to 420 x 300 mm) to house Siemens TP displays (KTP400 to TP1200) and also screens by manufacturers including Beckhoff, Beijer (X2), B&R and many more. All the enclosures are 95 mm deep as standard, giving them a slim profile. But you can specify them in custom depths if you prefer. That’s the beauty of TECHNOMET-CONTROL – like many other METCASE enclosures, it can be specified in custom sizes in all three dimensions.

CUSTOMISED TECHNOMET-CONTROL FOR MACHINE BUILDING

In a recent contract, we manufactured a customised TECHNOMET-CONTROL to fit a right-angle bracket bolted to the side of a machine used for bearing assembly and greasing. No customising was required to mount the enclosure to the right-angle bracket – it fitted directly using the standard VESA MIS-D 100 x 100 mm fixing points on the rear panel. Our customisation work included machining the enclosure to accommodate:

• a 7" Turck Banner TX707-P3CV01 HMI PLC touch screen (800 x 480 mm)
• pushbuttons and a switch
• a large green beacon on the top panel
• cable entry via the rear panel.
